A diagram of Penetratin
Penetratin is a proprietary peptide with unique drug carrier properties. A short (7- or 16-amino acid) peptide identified in Drosophila it is used for systemic, low immunogenicity, high efficiency endonuclear and cytosolic delivery of biologics and, at Cyclacel, small molecules also.

Penetratin is currently in wide use by many academic and commercial groups for non-viral, non-toxic, high efficiency cytosolic and endonuclear delivery of peptides, proteins, oligonucleotides and small molecule drugs. It is useful as carrier for antisense oligonucleotides, biologically active peptides, gene therapeutics and small molecule drugs with intracellular targets.

Rapid clearance from serum, efficient labelling of target cells and absence of tissue specificity make Penetratin a preferred vehicle for delivering cancer therapeutics for metastatic disease.

Non-exclusive licenses to Penetratin cellular and endonuclear delivery system are available.
